Marilyn Brooks’ life-long devotion to improving and promoting the Canadian fashion industry, its designers and mentoring of young talent has been appreciated and recognized by numerous awards and accolades throughout her forty-plus years in the industry, including the Order of Ontario in 2000. Following is a list of some of her accomplishments:

- Woolmark Award of Recognition for Design Excellence, 1987
- “Marilyn Brooks Day” was officially declared by the City of Toronto in recognition of her 25 years in the Canadian fashion industry, February 4th, 1988
- Color Marketing Group recognition and election to Chairholder
- Festival of Fashion, Metropolitan Booth Award, Excellence of Design, 1989
- International Academy of Merchandise & Design – Outstanding Dedication and Service to the Academy, 1990
- City of Toronto, Award for Excellence in Fashion Design, 1993
- Fashion Group International, Canadian Designer Award “Night of Stars 1995″
- Eaton Centre – Salute to the City Honouree, 1997
- NOW Magazine Readers Choice Awards, Voted Best Fashion Designer, 1999

As well as mentoring young talent, Marilyn Brooks has dedicated countless hours to fundraising efforts for organizations and causes such as AIDS, UNICEF, Parkinson’s and the Cabbagetown Youth Centre.
